Pescado y Jutía is a traditional combination used in Santería/Lukumí and Ifá spiritual practices as an offering and ritual ingredient. Known traditionally as ekú and eyá, these ingredients may be offered to certain Orishas and used in prescribed spiritual preparations according to one’s lineage.
It is commonly incorporated into offerings, altar work, ceremonies, and other traditional religious preparations, often alongside ingredients such as corn, palm oil (epó), or other items when directed by a priest or spiritual elder.
Traditional uses may include:
- Offerings to the Orishas
- Ifá and Lukumí ceremonies
- Altar and devotional work
- Traditional spiritual preparations
- Religious and ritual use
The exact way Pescado y Jutía is prepared and offered varies by lineage and ceremony. We recommend following the instructions of your Babalawo, Olorisha, or qualified spiritual elder.
